I am so excited to be taking part again in the Bay of Plenty Garden and Art Festival this year, and
for the last couple of months I have been busy getting work ready to exhibit in the beautiful garden of
Juliann and Alister Hawkey
Leanai at 331 Te Matai Road Te Puke 3188
Garden # 77
They have a large cottage-style garden with mature trees providing an oasis of shade on the lush lawn (which will be great for me and my paintings) You will be able to meander through the archway to the rose borders and arches leading onto a lawn surrounded by trees and vibrant flowering shrubs. Their garden is also a picnic spot so a great place to stop for lunch!
The work I will be exhibiting in Juliann and Alister's garden is part of my 'Positively Blooming' series, these paintings are vibrant joyful representations of New Zealand botanicals, in my intuitive expressionist style. These works are large statement pieces, I also have a range of hand made gelli prints, which I created using the leaves of an ornamental grape (a cutting from local artist Betty Oaks), from my garden last autumn, as well as Fine Art Giclee Reproductions of some of my work. With Christmas just around the corner I have also created a range of cards for you to enjoy... I am really looking forward to seeing you there 19-22 November!
Bloom in the Bay
If you are attending 'Bloom in the Bay' at the hub at Tauranga Race Course, I will also be taking part in the exhibition of participating artists upstairs in the gallery, where you will find this work ' Kowhai Trio' 100cm x 75cm.
The great thing about the hub is that entry is only $5.00 or free if you have a pass, so if you want to join in the spirit of the festival it's a great place to bring the family to see all kinds of art and garden related displays.
